Hello, Go players:

We invite you to the Mannheim Go Open Autumn 2017 (20th "{{lang|de|Mannheimer Aji}}") which will take place on the 28th and 29th of October, 2017.

We have decided to save the traditional Mannheim Go tournament, because our goal is to offer fun, creative and beautiful Go games in Baden.

Our greatest challenge was finding an affordable and available location for the tournament. Our solution: the Neckarstadt Community Center (Bürgerhaus Neckarstadt), where the Mannheim Chess Club also plays. We are hoping to cover part of these expenses by lowering the entry fee to 10 € and thereby attracting a larger number of players.

This 20th edition of the "“{{lang|de|Mannheimer Aji"}}” will again be a five round McMahon tournament. With time control (60 minutes, Canadian byo-yomiovertime 20 stones/5 minutes) we remain in the A Class according to the EGF-classification.

All games will again be played with quality equipment and digital timers. There will be prize money for the top three finishers (1st place: 100 €), as well as prize money for players with at least four wins, three money prizes for young players, and small material prizes for all young players (U11/U15/U19).<ref>Die Einteilung U11/U15/U19 ist unabhängig vom Geburtstag, Spieler mit
* Geburtsjahr ≥ 1999 werden als U19 geführt (sofern sie nicht U11 oder U15 sind).</ref>

For those who prefer quicker games there will be an accompanying 9x9-Marathon tournament, as well as additional playing equipment for re-playing games in an extra room (the cafeteria) within the community center. For beginners there will be a "Go“Go Seminar"Seminar” on Saturday morning. Top players will play in an extra playing room reserved for their games. In the cafeteria we will be offering inexpensive drinks and snacks, and a number of books and reading materials will also be available at our book table on Saturday and Sunday morning.

A small limitation has been imposed: the tournament must be over by 4 pm on Sunday! Therefore, we will be starting earlier on Sunday. Note, however, that the clocks will be set back one hour on the weekend of the tournament, so the night should still be long enough!
